Mrs. Jeannine Hamburg

Mrs. Jeannine Hamburg

To Edward Hamburg, education was a high priority. Ed was brought up in Paulsboro and worked in his parent’s store for many years. This experience led him into the field of marketing and business. Mr. Hamburg graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Thereafter, he entered into the field of business, gaining “hands-on” experience.

In 1976, Mr. Hamburg used his practical experience and turned to teaching, sharing his knowledge in the area of business for subsequent generations. He earned an M. Ed. Degree from Rutgers University, and began a long and distinguished career at Gloucester County College. During his tenure at GCC he served as Chairman of the Award and Scholarship Committee. Upon his retirement from GCC in 2000, he received the honor of Professor Emeritus and was further honored when Barnes and Noble named an annual scholarship in his name.

Although retired from GCC, Ed continued to assist students, serving on the college’s scholarship committee until his passing in April of 2015.
