Wilt Chamberlain Memorial Fund

Wilt Chamberlain Scholars are selected based not only on their academic accomplishments and financial need, but also their embodiment of Wilt Chamberlain’s characteristics of hard work and the pursuit of greatness, as well as a passion for volunteering and serving others.

The scholarship selection process includes a review of grades and courses, standardized test scores, essay responses, participation in volunteer service activities and extracurricular programs, and family finances.

At a minimum, applicants must:
•Be a high school senior residing in the Metropolitan Philadelphia area
•Intend to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution beginning in fall 2018
•Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or above
•Demonstrate significant unmet financial need.

Each award is intended to cover a share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships he or she may receive
